Hi, I’m Donn

Photography has been part of my life since I was a child.  But during that time I didn’t always have the opportunity to take photos. Photos of my childhood are few and far between.  So I promised myself that when I grew older that I would take more photos, but more importantly, capture memories for people so that they have as many still images of the special moments of their life as possible.  I have also been known to take photos of weddings or family occasions at no charge because I find it not fair for someone to not be able to relive these special occasions.  I know something good will come back to me at some point in my life in one form or another. 

I have been taking photographs professionally for 10 years now and I will continue as long as I am still able.  I have lived in different countries but for the last 35+ years I call Canada and Hamilton home.  Being exposed to different ways of life has given me the opportunities to discover other cultures, history, architecture, and of course, the food.  During these times of travel, I takes photos of the landscapes, the architecture, and street photography.   

I love to capture emotions so you will see this in my style of photography: documentary photography.  Unless it is specific couple photos or family/group photos, my photos will be candid to help you best remember how you felt at that point in time.  I also mostly shoot with natural light as I love playing with the available light and captures the mood a lot better for that moment in time.  In the case of some wedding receptions that are indoor and/or at night, I may switch to flash photography if lighting is difficult.
